Merci d'avance

Le texte original:
I would like your expertise because I encounter a strange problem that my poor knowledge does not allow me to solve.
I'm using a lumix camera which takes jpg pictures with exif informations. When I take a picture "at 90°", then the information of the rotation is included in the exif files, as the picture seen as a raw file is still rectangular with larger greater than height.
Now the problem is when I want to use this file under a software of video editing: to do that I want to have a simple picture, stille rectangular but with height greater than larger and no exif information, and to do that it is not simple:
- Under FSviewer the picture is automatically rotates due to the parametes "rotation auto by EXIF info". But it is only applicable to the picture shown, not to the vignette: that's quite disappointing. In my video editing software the picture is not shown rotated.
- Under FSviewer I haven't seen any possibility to see this information: is it possible?
- So under FSviewer I have selected my picture and applied the tool JPEG rotation without quality lost and based on EXEF info. OK now the image seems to be good, but under my video editing software I still see the picture rotated. SO I supposed that there is still a bad EXIF informations done by FSviewer. To confirm that I have deleted on this final picture all the JPEG informations and now the resulting picture is well seen by my editing software.
Could you help me to anderstand what's wrong and to help me to obtain rotated pictures from my camera original picture well configured?
Merci

Thanks for forwarding the question. Here is my feedback:
1)The Video editing software seems not to be able to rotate photos using the EXIF tag
2)You can use a menu "Tools"->"JPEG lossless Rotate"->"Auto-Rotate based on EXIF Orientation tag" in FastStone Image Viewer(FSIV) to rotate the photo and reset the EXIF tag
3)However there is an embedded thumbnail in the photo's EXIF section that is NOT changed by FSIV. If a software only uses this thumbnail instead of the actual image data to display the photo(I think this is the case of your video editing softwaer), you will still see the wrong image(un-rotated). Here is a solution: After step 2, remove the EXIF metadata of your photo so the editing software will have to read the actual image and it will show the image correctly. To remove the EXIF section, select "Tools" -> "Remove JPEG metadata". If you need to remove the EXIF data, I suggest you make a copy of your original photos first.
Hope this helps,
Best regards,
Andrew

Merci Colok,
Plusieurs remarques, si tu peux lui communiquer:
"
Firstly, why FSviewer does not rotate the EXIF bitmap when we apply the rotate command: I think it would be what it has to do, would't be?
Secondly FSviewer has quite the same problem as my video editing software: if we deselect the general option "rotate with EXIF information" then we have two differents views between the picture display and the vignette view.
My last point, I think it would be a not essential but good improvment to add in the "show EXIF parameters" menu all the missing one compared to which are really include in the picture file, like the rotate information, or the small bitmap.
Thank you again for your very good software.

As-tu transmis ma demande? Sinon il y a-t-il un forum en Anglais sur Fastone?
Merci
